Games the Devil Plays
By Pastor Andre Butler

And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land. And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren
Genesis 13:7-8

Abram's men were upset with Lot's men, and Lot's men were upset with Abram's men. Abram's men began to whisper in Abram's ear about Lot, and Lot's men began to whisper in Lot's ear about Abram. Most of you have experienced this nasty old game of the devil in your own lives because the devil knows that strife will derail God's plan.

Abram, however, understood the divisiveness of strife. He didn't say, "Let there be a little strife." You might think at times that it's okay to be a little upset with some people as long as you're not burning upset. No! Abram said, "Let there be no strife. We are brethren. Believers shouldn't fight." Abram was guarding his heart.
