Verse: Psalm 40:2

'HE lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; HE set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.'

- A pit is a picture of destruction and misery.
- The Lord wants to lift His children out of such pits.
- He does not want to see us mired in the troubles of life.
- He wants to place you on solid ground and give you a firm footing.

PRAYER: Lord, I pray that You will come right now and lift me up and out of the depression and pressure in which circumstances have kept me and I pray that You will raise me to newness of life. Amen.
