You Have The Authority

There are now more than 1 billion cars on the road around the world, and over 1.2 million people die each year due to car accidents. Reportedly, it ranks #10 as a leading cause of death in the world!

Yet, despite the weight, speed and volume of cars on the road, it only takes one policeman to stop and direct traffic. With one hand, they can affect traffic flow for miles around—even a whole city!

Why? Because the policeman has AUTHORITY to do so; authority that all drivers must recognize. And it’s the same thing with us! Satan recognizes the authority you carry in Christ Jesus, and he and all evil spirits must heed it.

“… That you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named.” ~ Ephesians 1:18-21

What did Jesus do when He was tempted by Satan in the wilderness? He firmly believed in the promises of God, and three times He spoke out quoting the Word, saying, “It is written,” “It is written,” “It is written!” And Satan fled from Him!

The authority the policeman holds is delegated to him by the government. Just the same, the authority you hold as a believer is delegated to you from Jesus. Because:

   In CHRIST, you are a friend of God!
   In CHRIST, you are seated with Him in the heavenly places!
   In CHRIST, you are above all principality, power, might and dominion!

Take heart my friend. Be bold! You need not fear the power or plans of Satan against your life. In Christ Jesus, you have the authority to cast out all evil and overcome every attack of the enemy!

Prayer for the day:

Thank God for the authority He has given you to overcome the evil spirits and powers you encounter. Pray that through being IN CHRIST, you can be free from the influence of oppression and fears from the devil!
