Hosea 10:11-12

Hosea 10:11-12 King James Version (KJV)
11 And Ephraim is as an heifer that is taught, and loveth to tread out the corn; but I passed over upon her fair neck: I will make Ephraim to ride; Judah shall plow, and Jacob shall break his clods.
12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

Hosea 10:11-12 Expanded Bible (EXB)

11 •Israel [L Ephraim; 4:17] is like a well-trained •young cow [heifer]
that likes to thresh grain.
I will put a •yoke [ora fine yoke] on her •neck [or fair neck]
and •make her work hard in the field [drive Ephraim hard].
Israel will plow,
and Judah will break up the ground.
12 I said, ‘•Plant goodness [Sow righteousness],
•harvest the fruit of loyalty [reap mercy/lovingkindness],
•plow the new ground of knowledge [L break up the unplowed/fallow ground].
•Look for [or For it is time to seek] the LORD until he comes
and •pours goodness on you like water [L rains/showers righteousness/justice on you].’

11 Ephraim a tribe of Israel was trained at one point in the law of God but they ended up doing things their own way. God allowed them to go their own way but down He is going to prevent them from doing that and it’s the same way with us sometimes God lets us wander our way and then draws us back into where He wants us to be. To be drawn in is often hard and difficult for us but it is best for us and was the best for them.

12 We are to live in the will of God or righteously. We can not live in God’s will without love; God’s will is shown and acted out thru love. The ground is where we go and this is where we are to plant love, everywhere we go. We are to seek the Lord and grow to live for Him, this is what life as a Christian is to have Him grow our lives grow closer to His will.
