Attitude Adjustment

Philippians 4:6-7, peace of God, Anxious thoughts
Sometimes I come to the Lord with wrong attitudes, doubts, fears, frustrations, confusion, discouragement, or selfish desires.

I'm in need of an "attitude adjustment" and prayer is the best way to get one.

The Psalms are full of "attitude adjustments."

I challenge you to read through the Psalms this year and note how often the Psalmist comes to the Lord full of doubts and fears. Then, as he writes about his concerns, the Psalmist begins "telling himself the truth" - reminding himself of God's faithfulness.

God knows we have anxious thoughts and he tells us in Philippians 4:6-7 to replace them with prayers, petitions, and thanksgiving.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

What a wonderful promise - a peaceful heart and mind. I want that. How about you?
