Hosea 5:5-7

Hosea 5:5-7 King James Version (KJV)
5 And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity: Judah also shall fall with them.
6 They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
7 They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.

Hosea 5:5-7 Expanded Bible (EXB)

5 Israel’s •pride [arrogance] testifies against them.
•The people of Israel [L Israel and Ephraim; 4:17] will stumble because of their •sin [iniquity],
and •the people of Judah [L Judah] will stumble with them.
6 They will come to •worship [L seek] the LORD,
bringing their flocks and herds,
but they will not be able to find him,
because he has •left [withdrawn from] them.
7 They have •not been true to [been unfaithful to; dealt treacherously with] the LORD;
they •are children who do not belong to him [or bear illegitimate/alien children].
So •their false worship [L a new moon; C a festival]
will •destroy [L devour] them and their •land [wealth; portion].

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

5 Pride is something God hates people are in hell because they would not let go of their pride, pride keeps us from accepting Christ and says that way can go to heaven our own way which is not true at all if it was Jesus would not have died, God wants us to remove pride so we can fully rely on Him. Guilt is the start of removing pride it is us accepting we are not good enough but to many try to remove this guilt instead of having God free us from the sin that caused us the guilt.

6 We need to be willing to seek the Lord by doing this we will find a true happiness. It is far to scary to search for the Lord and not find Him, this is often done because people look in the wrong places, they look in places of the world instead of His word. People only have a limited time to come to Christ before they no longer have time, they die and if they did not accept Him as Lord they will call out to Him but it will be to late.

7 Israel was not in marry other people because they did not follow God, we as Christians should not marry nonChristians because they often negatively effect our faith as the world did with Israel, it had much to do with their fall. New moons was something that was celebrated, it was suppose to be a good thing but because they rejected God’s ways it was going to be bad for them, the things we enjoy God has the power to make bad for us and often times He will do this if we put them before God.
