Hosea 2:1-2

2 Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.
2 Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;

and I am •no longer [L not] her husband.
Tell her to •stop acting like a prostitute [or take off her prostitute’s make-up; L set aside her harlotries from her presence/face],
•to stop behaving like an unfaithful wife [L and set aside unfaithfulness from between her breasts].

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

1 He is telling Hosea to tell Israel. Even though Israel and Judah were divided both were considered by God to be His people. God showed mercy to Israel by giving them chance after chance. Thank God that He gives multiple chances, some of us would not be where we are if He did not and none of us would be with any hope without His mercy, we all need His mercy, and I do not want what I deserve.

2 There many in Israel at this time that practiced idolatry openly and did not show any reference to God at all, this was not unnoticed, there is nothing that goes unseen by God.
