Magical Use of Gemstones

Gemstones are used and worn in various ways because they are believed by many people to possess mystical energies and grant luck, prosperity, protection, emotional and physical health, and spiritual gifts to the user or wearer. It’s also believed that gemstones attract or could aid in summoning spiritual beings.

Through spells and rituals, magicians and others who practice occultism attempt to charge or fill gemstones with occult powers to make them more powerful. In charging gemstones, one is really attaching demons to them.

There is nothing wrong in wearing gemstones or using them for decorative purposes. The sin is trusting in mystical energies they supposedly emit. Demons enter through the doors of people’s false beliefs and have the right of way to oppress those who do not place complete trust in God.

The use of gemstones has been incorporated into astrology since they are believed to be associated with the sun, moon and different planets. “Birthstones” are worn or carried by individuals throughout their lives because it is held that these gemstones will be spiritually beneficial to them.

Wearing, placing or carrying gemstones near a part of the body or vital organs for physical healing and other health benefits is also a relatively common practice.

There is no scientific proof to show that gemstones carry or emit energies or powers. Therefore, if one receives healing, luck or occult powers from the use of gemstones or other fetishes (e.g. metals, rocks, wood, feathers, animal teeth, claws, horns, water from certain places, parts of plants and flowers), the only explanation for this lies in the occult. Demons are at work to keep people ensnared in false beliefs to prevent them from placing absolute trust in God.
