Hold Onto Your God-given Dream
“Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. So he said to them, ‘Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.’”
~ Genesis 37:5-7
God wants to give you enormous dreams and visions just like Joseph. But the truth is, it’s not always easy being a dreamer. Joseph thought having a dream would inspire and encourage those around him. Instead, even those closest to him hated him for daring to dream, and they tried to kill him and destroy his destiny.
Just the same, people around you may discourage you when you share and work at the dreams He gives you for your life and His Kingdom. And it hurts even more when the criticism comes from people you love and feel close to. But regardless, you’ve got to rise above public opinion. Your fear of God has to be greater than your fear of criticism. And just like Joseph, you need to hold onto your dream super tight if you want to live in God’s will!
So hold tightly to the dreams and destiny that God reveals to you. Yes, there will be tough times ahead, but He will work all things out for you if you continue to love Him and seek His will. And the joy of serving God in His Kingdom will far outweigh any pain you experience along the way!
Prayer for the day:
Ask God to help you overcome discouragement as you serve Him and obey His will. Pray that His joy in your heart will be your greatest source of strength!
