And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work, which they made. And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the Lord commanded to make.

Exodus 36: 4-5

This was a very expensive work which the Lord commanded them to make, but this passage says that the people had brought more than enough offerings. Can you imagine an usher rushing to the pastor during Sunday morning offering, whispering in his ear, and the pastor saying, "Everybody stop giving! The building is paid off. Put your money away!" That's what happened!

God wants every ministry that's preaching the Word to have too much. But, the only way this can happen is if the people have too much. These people came out of Egypt with silver and gold. They were millionaires in today's terms (see Exodus 12). God put this money into their hands so they would be able to fund His work.
