Remembrance Week .

Rejoice greatly oh daughter of Zion; about o daughter of Jerusalem Behold thy King cometh unto thee : He is just and having salvation;lowly and riding upon an ass and upon a colt the foal of an ass . Zechariah 9:9
Five hundred years before the birth of Jesus the prophet Zechariah foretold the coming of the King to Israel .

The first day of the week , Christ made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem , Purposing to ride into Jerusalem on an ass and its colt .

It was no accident that Jesus sent 2 disciples to go ahead and bring the certain ass , the foal of a colt .

This was symbolically to be the beginning of the biggest week in the history of the world . Apart from the Creation week , this was to be the most the most important , most memorable week of all time .

The only one that knew the end before the beginning , was getting ready , making preperations to finish a great work , begun in the Garden of Eden , to culminate in tbe Garden of Gethsemene .

Jesus had recently raised Lazarus and now He was preparing to ride the colt of the King ,prophesied . This would have been huge news for those awaiting their Heavenly Ruler , The palm fronds layed before Him , .... Can you imagine the excitement of the crowd ? this Gallilean Rabbi , mounting the colt , the prophesy was to be fulfilled , the Romans would be sent packing ... Israel would have her place above all nations , all seemed too good to be true .

But of course , the sin problem would still have been in place .

So this week was more important than local politics , this week was a battlefield to the death ., And Jesus alone knew the stakes .
as He rode in to the sounds of Hosannas ,in the highest , His tears would internal as He accepted the praises of the throng , as He had never before .,
He wanted their attention , as He had never done before . This was special , but not like anybody else knew .

The week was carefully orchestrated from heaven , Jesus the perfect Lamb , going to His Passover Supper , by way of the money changers tables , by way of His annointing by Mary , by way of the dirty feet of His friends - lovingly washed ,( no doubt with His tears ) , to taking sup with His betrayer , These things were layed out before Him , and one by one , He met His fate and His Father , like no other time His love was being tested , and His need to commune more important than life .

The devil was watching , for any "blemish" to appear . That would void the sacrifice . None appeared . His accusers came from nameless demons in churchy robes , all pious and faceless .
They needed someone better than themseles to do the deed ,someone taught in scripture by the Master to turn a "kiss into a kill" , hate from love . They could not walk up to Jesus and "kiss" Him themselves ,. No . They needed a scape-goat . Poor Judas was weak and duped .

The Memory of all these things , riding on the colt of an ass , as The Lord rode to His destiny , and our triumphant reconciliation , as His vision down through the years was only just beginning .

What a glorious depiction of the triumphant ride in to Jerusalem that Jesus made on that Palm Sunday when all the peoples shouted Hosanna in the Highest to Him.
