"I Perceive"
By Pastor Andre Butler

Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them, And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
Acts 27:9-10

Paul said, "I perceive." He didn't say, "I heard a voice." He didn't even say, "The Lord spoke to me." The word perceive means "to discern." In other words, Paul was saying very simply that he received the inward witness about this. The Holy Ghost was dealing with him. The Holy Ghost gave him details.

Paul perceived that this voyage would be with hurt, injury, and much damage. The Holy Ghost is an early warning system. He will show you things to come so you can get in position to receive a good thing or to avoid danger. Notice, His warning always comes by inward witness.
