Strength to Overcome

After His baptism, Jesus, following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, was led into the wilderness for forty days. Although there were wild beasts, the angels of God ministered to Him and protected Him. But Satan, knowing the power of the anointing of the Spirit, immediately began to tempt and test Jesus.

This is a template of what happens in the lives of Christians today. When the anointing of the Holy Spirit comes upon you, there may be physical attacks (wild beasts) and spiritual attacks (the devil), but if you are led by the Spirit, angels will minister to you and you will be protected.

"Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?" (Hebrews 1:14)

"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you" (Luke 10:19).

Although Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness, physical and spiritual protection was provided by the Holy Spirit. As with Daniel in the lion's den, the beasts were subdued.
